Theological Differences
The Nature of God
Judaism emphasizes the absolute oneness of God (monotheism). The concept of the Trinity in Christianity, which includes Jesus as the Son of God, is incompatible with Jewish teachings.
The Role of the Messiah
For Jews, the Messiah has a specific role: to restore Israel, rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem, gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel, and bring peace to the world. Jesus did not fulfill these tasks according to Jewish expectations.
Salvation and Atonement
Judaism does not hold the belief that the Messiah’s role is to atone for the sins of humanity. Instead, it emphasizes individual and collective responsibility for sin and repentance.
